Jane Sinclaire, a noted Antiquities expert, has found herself in the middle of a mystery that may be bigger than she, or even all humanity, is ready for. As she seeks out unusual objects throughout the world, she finds clues that will lead her on a larger quest—one that may hold the key to her life, her family and Earth itself.
Many centuries ago, an organization of advanced thinkers and genius inventors came upon what they felt was the path to Utopia. In order to reach this state, they decided that they must separate themselves from society and start fresh with aligned ideals and their collective intelligence to put their goals into action. They left their respective cities and formed their first settlement, or adera, in the deserts of Egypt. While much of the rest of the world plunged into the Dark Ages, the Aderans flourished. Over decades and centuries, they developed their own technologies and began to evolve along a different path from the rest of society. They spread out to seven aderas around the globe, and made their settlements undetectable to outsiders. On occasion, outsiders who proved themselves worthy were allowed to join, and some Aderans would even leave for a time, sometimes to further their mission or perhaps for love of a “regular” human.
And Jane’s story begins with such a departure…actually, two of them. She will slowly uncover the fact that both of her parents are half Aderan. In fact, her maternal grandfather, Amaro Flores is one of the seven Aderan leaders known as The Elders. But Jane was raised with no knowledge of this fact, or of the existence of aderas at all. But because of her lineage and her honed talents, Amaro recognizes that she is the one destined to lead the final quest to save the world from a destructive force that the Aderans have set in motion. If she can succeed, she may not only save the Aderans and all of humanity, but she could also hold the key to unlocking Utopia.
