So… anyone got a code for Lode Runner?

Oh who am I kidding this is nigh impossible to do within a weekend unless you’ve got like four of them already.

  • http://twitter.com/AntaraelDulacre Antarael Dulacre

Have all 3 games finally a can try this! yeah! =D

  • http://twitter.com/AntaraelDulacre Antarael Dulacre

Even though it’s pretty hard again looking at the achievements hum

  • Johan

Holy crap, I already have all 9! O_O

    • http://twitter.com/toythatkills mAtt

That’s impressive! Not just Marathon, but beating Lode Runner isn’t easy either. Skills.

  • http://twitter.com/Thrashballer Jalen

Guess I’ll enjoy the codes I won from last week.

Good luck to others attempting this.

  • http://twitter.com/Newdeck Gerard Newdeck

Im saving the points for summer of arcade and dungeon fighter rather than buy a mediocre game to participate. These are still fun when I’m into the games though.

    • http://twitter.com/toythatkills mAtt

Which one of these games is mediocre? They’re actually all great, which you’d know if you’d played them rather than just, well, whatever you’re basing that on.

    • Rob

I agree with Matt. Trials and Lode Runner are both top quality games. Lazy Raiders was also a nice change of pace for a few days gaming……

  • http://twitter.com/AntaraelDulacre Antarael Dulacre

Already completed lazy raiders earlier and now got the achievement in trials hd for all hard tracks (king of the hill is pain in the A** <.<" still need 3 more achievements *phew* maybe it is doable but…man so hard v.v"

  • Rob

Wow, I also have completed all 3. Surprised that the list does not contain any of the very latest releases, this appears to be a better system.
Lode Runner is an amazing game. One of my top 5 arcade games;and ive played 150+

    • http://twitter.com/AntaraelDulacre Antarael Dulacre

Maybe you could help me out with the Co-op Mode in Lode Runner? ._.”

      • Rob

I definately would if I could. I have helped alot of people out with that achievement before. However, I am away from home for the next week and a half.

        • http://twitter.com/AntaraelDulacre Antarael Dulacre

Meh =/ Thx anyway…I doubt I’ll get through the singleplayer till monday anyway ._.”

          • Rob

unfortunately it is unlikely unless you put in some serious hours! There are some tricky levels owards the end that take a little while to just figure out how to complete.
            Good luck!

  • Mark

I like these challenges. I have 2 of the games but can’t get Loderunner this week unfortunately. I don’t have many of the achievements either but will get them all eventuall :o)

    Good luck all

  • http://twitter.com/AntaraelDulacre Antarael Dulacre

Not even that the achievements are hard, they took a hell of a time to get them done…still need two achievements and have 61 levels to go in lode runner…I fear time will be running out before even finish this game…lol

Lazy Raiders is complete, hard tracks in trials hd and 30 puzzles are done in lode runner…

  • Anonymous

Actually going to sit this one out. I have all the games but only 1 achievement. Have some family up as well so I probably won’t be in most the weekend anyway.

However, good luck to everyone and thanks to @playXBLA for the challenge!

  • Anonymous

Anyone who can help me with the last co-op level in Lode Runner?
    Gamertag is SnoopyDK.

  • http://twitter.com/FunkSlapBass420 Russel Halford

Id be so stoked if the games they sent out this week were like Minecraft and Fez haha, thatd be legendary

    • Rob

      Or Trials 2 and Skullgirls!

      • http://www.thetjhzone.blogspot.com/ Tylerh1701

        Or Spelunky and anything else!

  • http://twitter.com/AntaraelDulacre Antarael Dulacre

Yep….not going to make it…the game (Lode Runner) is too freaking long…

  • http://twitter.com/Grant__Houghton Grant

if anyone has any codes that they want to trade, trade here:

    Done =]

  • http://twitter.com/AntaraelDulacre Antarael Dulacre

*Update* Not even half trough Lode Runner 1P Mode…but tried the Extreme Tracks in Trials HD on finished 3 to go…and even if I make it I still need one more achievement….geez…those achievements are hard..very hard…I’d say you had to have 5 achievements of 7 to even get his done…I started with 3 and now I have 5 and a lot of hours put in..and still not going to make it…only slept 4 hours the last two days..lol

All the hard work, and I’m almost sure I won’t get this done until tomorrow morning *sigh*

    • http://twitter.com/toythatkills mAtt

I don’t think you’d need five to begin with, you’d only need one really but it depends which one you’d have got. The time consuming ones are completing Lode Runner, and Marathon in Trials. I think you’d probably need to be well on your way to either of those to have a chance. Aside from those, though, getting six more won’t take too long at all. Completing the hard and extreme tracks in HD is a few hours work even if playing from scratch, Lazy Raiders is very quick to complete from scratch, and doing 30 puzzle levels in Lode Runner could easily be cheated with youtube if you wanted to, probably, but it’s not that hard even without it. That’d be six in under ten hours, I’d think.

  • eddard

In case anyone doesn’t get this, they’re banking on you having two of the games and wanting the reward bad enough to buy the third. That’s why they upped it from 6 to 7 achievements. The reward is often different for everyone, and usually not worth it from what I’ve seen people get.

Don’t waste your money on crap games if you don’t have them already. They just want to sell more copies and are thinking that people won’t see through this scheme. Be an intelligent consumer, not a sheep like microsoft thinks you are.

Then just don’t take part in this challenge and stop complaining. Clearly it wasn’t meant for you anyway. There are enough chances to win an XBLA game outside the Weekend Cheeve Challenge right here on PlayXBLA without you having to spend anything else besides some time and creativity!

      • http://twitter.com/AntaraelDulacre Antarael Dulacre

^ what NEO_METATRON said…I’m very lucky about ALL giveaways they’re doing…and never had to spend money on any games I didn’t want to..

    • http://twitter.com/litepink360 anna

I got Joe Danger and Raskulls the other week. Two pretty damn good games if you ask me.

    • Rob

I think it goes without saying that it is unnecessary to buy games you do not like just for the chance of winning a game that you do like. Just buy the game you want instead!
However, from what I have seen the games included in the Weekend Cheevo Challenge have all been good games; there doesn’t seem to be anything untoward with the giveaway. Having to get 7 achievements makes sense, it is very easy/common for people to just get 6 or just have 2 of the games.

    • Aaron Gallagher

I don’t get this, the website is optional and not mandatory, if you don’t own the games then ready the post entirely! Let me cop and paste for you:

“Please keep in mind this is for fun! If you don’t own any of the three titles selected one week but you NEED to win the prize for that weekend feel free to shoot us an email at PlayXBLA@microsoft.com. In your email be sure to include your title suggestions for the next week and the prize of choice!”

So how you can say this us unfair is beyond me. Say you have to buy all 3 games, you’ll be getting two more free and often quality titles at that.

      By the way, they upped it from 6-7 due to a high volume of people participating and play XBLA had 2 choices;

A; reduce the prizes or amount of entries
B; increase the challenge but keep the prizes the same

I find it sad people can’t see the generosity, what do you think of Xbox live rewards out if curiosity? Do you participate in the survey for 20points or do you see the surveys as a ‘con’?

  • http://twitter.com/FunkSlapBass420 Russel Halford

I want to try spelunky out so badly haha

  • http://twitter.com/FunkSlapBass420 Russel Halford

anyone get their codes yet? Curious to know what they sent out this week

    • NBA Kirkland

Nothing yet. I will be ecstatic if they give out Spelunky codes. Ecstatic and very grateful!

  • NBA Kirkland

I still haven’t received any prize/codes/email for winning this week. Anyone else?

    • NBA Kirkland

Just got the codes shortly after I emailed them. Not sure if that was necessary. Trials Evolution and Pinball FX2 Avengers. Thanks PlayXBLA!

      • Rob

        Congratulations. Two great games!
