English: We’ve added a new theme “Bipedalism” that contains words about moving on two feet. Look for words like: WALK, SLINK, PLOD, PUSSYFOOT, STALK, and AMBLE.
Dutch, Swedish, and Spanish: We’ve added “Flowers”.
This week, we’ve introduced Autogrin and Buffy’s latest English theme creation: Construction. When you see it, look for words like: BRICKWORK, CARPENTRY, DRYWALL, SCAFFOLDING, TILE, and TOOLS. We talk a lot about English changes, because the engineering team’s native language is English, but we are also continuing to add and support themes through all of the non-English languages as well. Today, we are proud to “reset” our leaderboards to begin a new year of competition in Wordament! Last year, as we launched on Xbox, it was truly a full, forced reset of everything. At that time, we were resetting everyone’s player account to move everyone to Xbox. This year, existing players get to retain all of their personal player stats. Shuffle Party is back for Windows 8! Compete in various shuffleboard games using your Xbox Avatar! Featuring Bowling, the standard bowling game played on a shuffleboard table; League Bowling, where players bowl in weekly tournaments against other Xbox Live users; Challenge Mode, get the best score possible while faced with obstacles such as bumpers, ramps, gates, and portals; Shuffleboard, the classic table game – try to get as close to the score zones without falling off the table; and Pass & Play, a two-player version of shuffleboard where you and a friend take turns by passing the device. We have a couple of new theme lists and a change to our Prefix and Suffix puzzles in Wordament!
First up is the new “Sailing” theme! Look for words like: BROADSIDE, CLIPPER, HELM, LOGGERHEAD, SAILCLOTH, SCUPPER and WINDWARD.
And, last but not least, is a change to two of our “Potpourri puzzles”: Prefix and Suffix. Player chey38 from Los Angeles was kind enough to send us a mail letting us know that while our intent was good, our usage of the terms prefix and suffix were incorrect for some of the words we were allowing. Specifically, a prefix and suffix “change the meaning” of the word they are attached to. So, “misrepresent” is the opposite of “represent”. But, during the prefix round for MIS- we also allow MIS-S and MIS-T, which means the MIS- is not actually a prefix. So we’ve changed the title of those puzzles to “Starts with” and “Ends with” respectively. In gratitude and recognition, we sent chey38 a Wordament T-shirt! Thanks chey38!
